L'Ecuelle d'Or - La Bique | Lot-et-Garonne - Southwest France - Farmhouse - Villa - Holiday Home

Restaurants

Eating great food is not difficult in Southwest France but here are a few of our favourites. Please send us word of your own discoveries.

Clairac

L'Ecuelle d'Or (shown above)

Great food, fantastic hostess, really nice ambience.

Le Gascon

Le Gascon - La Bique | Lot-et-Garonne - Southwest France - Farmhouse - Villa - Holiday Home

Great value savoury and sweet crepes. Good spot for lunch and often open when everywhere else is closed.

Laparade

Restaurant Panorama

Restaurant Panorama - La Bique | Lot-et-Garonne - Southwest France - Farmhouse - Villa - Holiday Home

Our local bastide is five minutes drive away. Enjoy a good lunch sitting outside “Restaurant Panorama”, then take a stroll through the village, or drop in for dinner after a visit to the night market on Tuesdays. The view over the Lot Valley from the lookout is truly spectacular.

Pujols Haute (near Villeneuve-sur-Lot)

Villa Smeralda

Villa Smeralda - La Bique | Lot-et-Garonne - Southwest France - Farmhouse - Villa - Holiday Home

One of the prettiest villages you will ever visit and home to our favourite restaurant. Whether it's lunch in the garden or dinner inside, Villa Smeralda's take on Sardinian cuisine will surprise and delight you. We highly recommend a visit.

Bazens

Le Pique-Assiette

For great regional cuisine “Le Pique-Assiette” is well worth a visit. Bazens is a pretty little village so book a table outside and dine in the shadow of the medieval church. It's about 25 mins directly south cross country, or via Aiguillon in the direction of Agen.

Puymirol

Les Loges de L'Aubergade ***

Les Loges de L'Aubergade - La Bique | Lot-et-Garonne - Southwest France - Farmhouse - Villa - Holiday Home

For a truly sensational dining experience, book a table for lunch or dinner at Michel Trama's 3 Michelin star restaurant at Les Loges de L'Aubergade. The food is everything you would expect of a three-star restaurant, but the bastide and the building alone are worth the trip. The hotel is set in a medieval monastery in the centre of the bastide and has been beautifully renovated. Allow about 50 minutes travel time.

Vianne

Pretty bastide town. On Friday nights from June 1st they have a night market. Many of the restaurants set up tables in the main square and in surrounding streets, and you can wander between them before choosing one of their delicious fixed price menus. Great atmosphere.
